Making a difference in the Denton community

This week’s Staff Spotlight goes to our fourth work-study, Alonso Rodriguez.

This is Alonso's first year at DCP. Alonso has plenty of experience working with kids and saw DCP as a great way to be a positive influence in his community.

“I like the people and the environment that I’m surrounded with every day. Plus, I have a great boss,” Alonso said. “DCP is a nice facility, not to mention it has the best free food in town!”

Alonso is from Lake Dallas and is currently a Mechanical Engineering Tech major at UNT. He enjoys lifting weights and playing soccer during his free time and coaches a youth soccer team as well. At school, Alonso is part of the Folklorico de North Texas where he gets to represent his culture not only at his university but also throughout the Denton community through his performances.
